Description
Greater sea kale – Crambe cordifolia, also known as Colewort and a relative of Sea kale ( Crambe maritima). Like sea kale, greater sea kale is also edible and the huge dark green leaves can be harvested and cooked and the florets used like a mini broccoli. These are very hardy plants and can grow very large, up to 2m tall and 1.5 spread with a profusion of white flowers in summer which attract lots of insects. It will grow in well drained soil in sun or part shade. Plants can be propagated by dividing roots sections in the autumn.
