Description
Jewels of Opar – Talinum paniculatum, an exquisite edible and ornamental plant with an intriguing name. It has succulent leaves which are lovely in a sandwich or salads. The very pretty pink flowers are followed by jewel like fruits. A frost tender perennial, so needs to be grown undercover, or grown in a container outdoors in summer and brought indoors into a frost free area in winter. Very easy to propagate new plants from cuttings and also collect your own seeds when fruits start to shrivel and turn black/brown.
