Vleikos Aponogeton distachyos

Vleikos – This plant is cultivated in its native South Africa for the flower spikes and added to the hearty lamb stew known as waterblommetjiebredie. The flower spikes taste delicious and fresh. Its small tubers are also edible and can be roasted. Ours are happily growing a bath tub while they wait for a big pond to be dug.
