Description
Garden sorrel – non flowering form ( Rumex acetosa) a hardy, easy to grow and generous perennial vegetable. This is a rare non flowering form which grows to about 30cm in sun or part shade. It can be propagated easily from divisions by lifting a clump and carefully splicing the plants. Leaves are fresh and delicious in spring but can be harvested for much of the year as leaves don’t turn bitter like the flowering types. This one came to us as a gift from a perennial vegetable grower and friend and it has been happily growing for the last six years providing us with a fantastic supply of greens which can be used in sauces, soups and salads.
