Taunton Deane perennial Kale, an endless supply of greens from this very old perennial variety from the somerset region. The leaves are surprisngly tender considering the plants reach more than 2m wide and 2m tall with very thick woody stems. Plants are generally propagated from stem cuttings, although they do periodically throw out a flower spike or two. This is also know as Cottager’s kale, a reference to its use by ordinary folk for centuries. An essential staple for any perennial vegetable garden.
